I’m a bit late, becuase Selome put us onto Lulu James a few weeks ago, but she just played on Radio 1 and I thought I would share for those of you who have missed it. Hailing from North East London, Lulu reminds me of winter. Her voice is deep and cold and pulsing. Repeat. C

TO my surpise my favorite put on has been 2morrow’s Victory which is comprised greg ( chitown ) and raf ( south london). It amazes me how far I have to go to find out about things from home. Anyways Greg and Raf have a mellow sound thats missing from the market place right now. The released a new EP last week,…

That’s why a few concerned professionals have come together to present the first-ever African Restaurant Week from September 22-29, 2012 in the metro Washington area. With the attention on the local food movement, little attention has focused on African foods. From the health…

Canadian-born South African singer/songwriter Zaki Ibrahim has got her debut release Every Opposite spinning in my ears.  While her first single from the album, Heart Beat, was released over a year ago and my personal favorite, Something in the Water was released last December, this album was definitly worth the wait.  While house and electronic music have been taking over South Africa, Zaki brings a healthy dose of electro beats, with production done by  Tiago Correia-Paulo, all the while her vocal skills consistently shine threw.  Zaki introduces us…

The XX has been collaborating with other artist and doing a little production work for some well established artist.  I’m happy to see they are releasing an album this coming September!  Their single Chains has the classic XX sound,  laid back vocals, light guitar riffs.   Their voices melt and mesh together so well.  I’m looking forward to listening to the whole album.

Its pretty obvious how we feel about this dude in light of our recent show. Its also obvious that Full Crate doesn’t sleep at all. Straight of his us tour with Mar
