I remember being taken away by Brittany Bosco’s voice when I first heard Spectrum. She’s another talent who has the ability to cross genres and she is not afraid to do so. She’s experimented with video and other art and for the past 2 years has taken an hiatus from music. Well she’s back and dropping Let Go Of Me next month. Joker is a preview of what’s to come on her upcoming EP. Brittany’s voice is wonderful as usual, and the band is serenading us with it’s beach grooves on this single. This is a lovely track, a little...
We’ve got the story of producer meets producer and makes a dope album. OJ is Dilla obsessed and Gold is a straight up jazz head, they came together and created beautiful music. Out of Paris, the two came together and brought a star studded list of emcees to join them on their release of Analogtronics. The tracks placed behind the voices of Kweli, DF Doom, Guilty Simpson are surprising filled with funky and maddening keyboard skills created by the duo. The duo made a name for themselves separately in the Paris electro scene, now they are pushing their talents a bit further to create Analogtronics. As you might have guessed from the album title you’re...
So I definitely missed the boat when Melo-X dropped this single and video last month. Melo-X has really stepped up his game up. I feel like as time passes his music gets more complex and beautiful. I’m loving this super layered single with trippy visuals to go along with it. Forget coffee, this here will give you your way up call. ...
Soia is a Taiwanese songstress currently residing in Vienna. Soia dabbles in all things music and her journey of living and traveling the world has created a appreciate for all types of music. Soia has collaborated with producer Mez in the past and she is now coming together with him to create an EP being release this year. I love how Soia can jump from jazzy and soulful to a more upbeat swing. Check the video and I’m looking forward to hearing more from these two. ...
Here is a lovely little number by Freddie Joachim. You can always count on Freddie to produce some delightful tracks to soothe your soul. This track is a beautiful combo of instruments, while Freddie’s production skills are on point. The cold air is creeping in, it’s time to cuddle up and take a listen to Morena....
While Sonnymoon just released their 2012 EP last month, and I wasn’t expecting any more treats from the duo in the near future, come to find out they released a single with super talented West-coaster Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. Anna blows me away with her vocals on this track. I’m loving the alternative version done by Miguel, sounding like a soundtrack to a dramatic movie. Miguel’s musical touch is just plan masterful. A truly lovely track. ...
Here goes a video by Miami’s QuEST. QuEST is releasing a string of videos (with the help of 2DopeBoyz) leading up to his Fear Not Failure project. The first video we have QuEST spitting fire over the Black Keys’ bluesy Ten Cent Pistol. And yes folks, he’s got three more of these weekly video’s featuring QuEST freestyling before his EP drops. QuEST kills it on this track, looking forward to seeing if he brings it on his other upcoming tracks....
It feels like spring in the district right now. I’m in need of some summery grooves to go along with this 60 degree February weather, so I’m happy to catch Toro Y Moi’s new single Dead Pontoon. He’s got the light refreshing vibe going on with some beachy guitar riffs. This single is a sample from the upcoming box set of music featuring music from the ‘pivotal period in his work ‘ which will be called June 2009, but will be released in April....
Dirg Gerner released an amazing EP called Preface. Rahel, Fatima and Olmino are sprinkled all over the EP, and it’s just straight up lovely. Now we have fLako doing a killer remix of Rubies & Diamonds. I am love loving this remix, with its bouncy happy feelings while it doesn’t take too much away from the original. Enjoy....
The duo by the name of 14th just dropped a video for their single Take Me There. Take Me There is their follow up to their debut Hide Yourself. Take Me There is a like a 90s dance tribute. It reminds me of Ace of Base and C+C Music Factory and creating horrible dance moves in my basement to that typical 90′s era dance beat. Tracy kills the vocals on this track, and I can still say that 14th is the dangerous duo to look out for in 2012. ...
Boom Clap Bachelors’ single Løb Stop Stå is a smash. Producer Cris Prolific sprinkled some of his talents on the track and created a lovely remix. The track still has that hard hitting effect, but now with a little extra funky synthesizer sound. BOOM CLAP BACHELORS ‘Løb Stop Stå’ CRIS PROLIFIC RMX feat. MOKA ONLY by Cris Prolific...
