There have been phases in my life where Nina Simone’s music was banned in my house because her voice has the tendency to make me cry on onset. I have been ever intrigued by her voice and style. While she is one quite possibly my favorite female vocalist of all time her rendition of Feeling Good has always been lacking to me. Maybe because it doesn’t feel good. I came across this remix this morning that speeds it up a bit. Alister Johnson’s work has me dancing around the apartment counting my blessing. Enjoy.
